Day 1
You’ll land in Nadi and be transferred to the beautiful Sun Coast. This is a two-and-a-half-hour drive through sugarcane country. Depending on your arrival time you might want to stop at Tukini (a unique museum themed restaurant, using traditional methods to cook Fijian food grown on their grounds) for lunch before heading up to enjoy a relaxing evening at Dreamview Villas. Enjoy some sunset yoga or just an opportunity to talanoa (chat) to your fellow adventurers for the week.
Day 2
After breakfast we will make the trip to Nabalesere village (approximately a 1.5-hour drive) to get a taste of the traditional Fijian life outside the main areas. The community is nestled into the north-east of the Greater Tomanivi forest reserve in the province of Ra. In this province, we'll hear another form of greeting, instead of saying ‘Bula!’ as in other parts of the island, the word ‘Yadra!’ (pronounced Yandra) is used to say hello.
Our local guide will lead us on a hike (1.5 kilometres) to the breath-taking spot of the Savulelele waterfall, arguably Fiji’s most majestic waterfall, tumbling down from a height of 70 metres.
While farming is the main source of income for many Fiji communities, partnering with the village helps to create an additional source of income. After the swim under the waterfall, we will return to Nabalesere village for lunch before returning to Dreamview Villas to enjoy the sunset.
Day 3
After breakfast we’ll take a boat over to Nananu-i-Ra to enjoy the morning on the beach. We’ll have a picnic lunch before returning to the villas and heading to Rakiraki town markets where we will shop for dinner. We'll meet a few market vendors and get a glimpse of the fresh fruit and vegetables available in Fiji before returning to the villas for an afternoon of learning to cook some traditional Fijian and Indian dishes before enjoying the dinner together.
Day 4
This morning we'll drive to Nadi in time for a traditional Fijian lunch at Tukuni - a restaurant developed through the Foundation for Rural Integrated Enterprises & Development (FRIEND) who work with villages in the area to support local organic farmers and fishermen.
We'll then visit the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, immersing ourselves in the diverse and lush plant life of Fiji, and then make our way to Vee's Farm - an organic farm where we'll have the opporunity to go on a short hike to explore the property and enjoy afternoon tea together.
We'll finish our day with dip in the Sabeto Mud Pools and then spend the night at Sailor's Beach, preparing for our boat ride into the Yasawa Islands tomorrow!
Day 5
We will depart after breakfast and sail to Octopus Resort on Waya Island, our accomodation for the final two nights of our trip. We'll check in to our rooms and spend the day snorkelling from the resort and hiking nearby Wayasewa.
Day 6
Today you'll have the option to do a hike on Waya Island, or to just spend the day relaxing and enjoying the slow pace of life on "Fiji Time".
Over our farewell dinner we'll share reflections and favourite moments from our journey together.
Day 7
Today we'll head back to the mainland by boat and prepare to depart Fiji. We'll say goodbye to the new friends we've made throughout the trip, and then you'll head to the airport to begin your journey home.
Please let us know your return travel plans so we can help with your airport transfer. If you would like to spend an extra night in Nadi or extend your Fiji trip with an add-on itinerary, we'd be happy to help you with this, just let us know when you complete your booking form.
